Tasmin Lucia Khan


Tasmin Lucia Khan is the news anchor for ITV’s flagship breakfast show Daybreak. She gets up at 0300 every week-day to give herself time to prepare for the programme which is live on air from 0600. The move to ITV came after several years as the face of BBC Three News, and the presenter of E24 on the BBC News channel. Here, she reported on breaking news stories such as the 2010 Haiti Earthquake and the death of singer Michael Jackson in 2009.

Before joining the BBC Newsroom in London, Tasmin was a News Correspondent for PTV where she reported the UK’s top news stories to a worldwide audience. She covered events such as the 7/7 London bombings and the Ipswich murders in 2006. In 2004 Tasmin presented a live 3 hour news programme for BBC Radio as news broke of the Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami.

Tasmin’s presenting career began in 1999 at the Zee Television Network where she hosted a variety of shows interviewing guests from the world of music, film, politics, business and sport.

Off screen, Tasmin has hosted many events such as the Queen’s Baton Relay for the 2010 Commonwealth Games at Buckingham Palace, the AAA Business Awards Ceremony and the AVP International Aids Conference in Asia. She has facilitated at corporate conferences for clients such as Goldman Sachs and the British Government.

Tasmin graduated with an Honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford.
