Nicos Christodoulakis

Former Greek Economics and Finance Minister

Nicos Christodoulakis was the Greek Minister of the Economy and Finance from 2001 to 2004. He is currently Professor of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and remains a Member of Parliament.

During his time as Minister of the Economy and Finance, Mr Chrisodoulakis was Chairman of the Finance Ministers Council (ECOFIN) in the European Union, during the Greek presidency. He also chaired Eurogroup where he particpated in international meetings meetings with the G7, IMF and…

He was previously Minister for Development responsible for Energy, Industry, Trade, Tourism and Research. Earlier on in his career he was Economic Advisor to the then Prime Minister Mr. Simitis.

At various stages in his career he has lectured overseas in economics including Charles University in Prague, and was Senior Research Office in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Cambridge.

Mr Christodoulakis is a regular speaker at international economic and financial conferences.
